Hajimethiya* (How do you do?) My name is Jan. I founded Piranha Divers in 2009. I started diving in 1999 in Germany as a CMAS diver in a quarry. Since that time, I have dived and worked in Egypt, Greece, Australia and Thailand. Now I live in Japan and work as a PADI Instructor in Onna, Okinawa. The ocean here is beautiful and allows me to share with clients all kinds of unique diving experiences—huge, colorful underwater coral gardens, canyons and caves, drift diving, night diving, and even a wreck from World War II that was discovered only in 2001.
Piranha Divers is located in the north of Onna village, near Nago. (Please click on “Location”) We are a very small but friendly shop, dedicated to the Individual diver, not to the crowd! Our facilities include a decent size classroom, a nice garden with a place to wash and dry gear, and plenty of parking.
We offer a complete range of rental gear, from new to slightly used. All our scuba equipment is in very good condition, which, unfortunately, is not always the case when diving in Okinawa.
Over time, we have built good relationships with people here on the island, which helps the whole operation run smoothly.
Please feel free to contact us for further information.

She is the organizing and hard-working hand behind Piranha Divers, managing all the official contacts with the government, local community, and other diving-related issues. Tomoko is an open-water diver, but has less time for diving than she would like: Our young daughter tends to become unhappy if she disappears under the water for an hour or so!

"I had a great time diving with you and Chad this past weekend. I’m planning to come back to Okinawa again. It would be cool to dive again with you then. Thanks."

"Hi!
Jan, I really enjoyed the PADI advanced open-water diver course with you.
The sites in Okinawa are amazing! I highly recommend you to anyone wanting
to learn or brush up his skills.
I hope to come back soon."

"Hey, Jan. I dove with you at the end of December. I’m the guy from Alaska.
Your website is awesome.
If you ever come up to Hokkaido or Alaska, let me know."

"I went diving with you on Feb 2. I really enjoyed what I saw under the sea, and thanks for being so nice to us."
