This is the first professional level certification. During the course you will learn how to work with divers, lead certified divers, and act as a dive guide showing divers underwater dive sites and the marine life that inhabits those dives sites.

Prerequisites: - Minimum age 18
- Provided proof of at least 40 logged dives, proof of 60 dives is needed for certification

- SDI Advanced Adventure Diver or equivalent; advanced certification must include verifiable experience in deep, navigation, night, and limited visibility specialties

- SDI Rescue Diver or equivalent
- Provide proof of current CPR, first aid and oxygen provider

- Must be able to answer “No” to all questions on the medical statement
- Must get "fit for diving" clearance from a doctor, before the course starts

Please Note:

  1. The course will start between 7:30 and 9:00AM at the dive shop and finish at approximately 15:00-17:00PM each day. Please plan accordingly.
  2. Watermanship skills:
    1. 800-metre swim with mask, snorkel, and fins non-stop without the use of arms in less than 17 minutes.
    2. 400-metre swim on the surface, non-stop, any stroke, without the use of swimming aids, in less than 10 minutes; swim goggles permitted.
  3. Scuba skills - minimum equipment: all equipment required for a SDI Dive Leader:
    1. In water, transport a simulated tired diver at a quick pace for 4 minutes.
    2. Demonstrate a complete rescue scenario satisfactorily.
    3. Perform underwater skills with and without a mask.
    4. Swim on the surface, in full scuba equipment, using the snorkel, 100 Metres.
    5. Bring a diver, simulating unconsciousness, up from depth, not greater than 6 Metres/20 Feet; at the surface swim them 100 Metres in less than 4 minutes.
  4. Training is offered in English! Online training materials are available in many languages.
  5. Training is purchased, certification is earned, no refunds will be given if you cannot meet the training requirements.
